- Factory Reset (if available): We will attempt to reset your computer to its original factory settings. To do this, we need to either be able to access the on-board factory reset media or we need a copy of the original factory reset image (such as a DVD or USB image). These can often be purchased from the manufacturer's website. If this is something we have to order, the cost will be added to the final bill.
- Clean Install - Latest Operating System: This is our recommended option. We completely wipe the storage device and install the latest compatible, stable version of the Operating System. Please note that certain applications that originally came with your computer may not be present with this option. If you have concerns about that, please let us know ahead of time.
- Clean Install - Recent: This is an option when the client doesn't want the most recent version of the Operating System installed. An example would be someone who prefers to keep Windows 10 instead of Windows 11.
- In-Place Upgrade: We DO NOT erase your storage device (hard drive). We only attempt to install a newer version of the Operating System "on top of" the current one. We do not recommend this option as it can cause performance issues or worse. We do not take responsibility for any data loss or performance issues that may occur with this option.
- Legacy or Custom: If a client wants a legacy operating system (such as Windows 7) or a custom installation (such as a Linux distribution or Ghost Spectre) we do charge extra for the extra work normally involved.
